Winner of Top Chef Season 19 and Top Chef World All Stars Season 20, Buddha Lo is the Executive Chef and co-owner of Huso. Under his leadership, Huso evolved from an intimate, caviar-focused tasting menu restaurant on the Upper East Side into an innovative 12-course dining experience in Tribeca. In 2025, Huso earned its first MICHELIN Star at the new location, and in 2026, Buddha was named a James Beard Foundation semifinalist for Best Chef: New York State. Born in Australia, Buddha began his culinary journey at age 12 in his parents’ Chinese restaurant. He later refined his craft working with some of the world’s most respected chefs in Melbourne and London, including at Three MICHELIN Star institutions such as Gordon Ramsay and Eleven Madison Park. This global background informs his bold, precise, and highly creative approach to fine dining at Huso.

HEAD CHEF

As Head Chef at Huso, Lois Picken brings a wealth of experience from some of the world’s most celebrated kitchens. Formerly a sous chef at Core by Clare Smyth in London, she helped lead the team to Two and then Three MICHELIN Star status. In 2022, Chef Picken advanced her career at The French Laundry, working under Chef Thomas Keller to refine her skills at the iconic restaurant. At Huso, she partners with Executive Chef Buddha Lo to create a dynamic tasting menu that showcases the finest ingredients from around the world.
